We are looking for a driver that would like to fill in 5-10 days per month to cover for vacations or call outs. The person who fills this role might be retired, going to school, or have other priorities.
As a CDL Linehaul Driver with FedEx, you’ll operate commercial vehicles to transport trailers between service centers, relay points, and hubs. This role is ideal for drivers who prefer minimal handling and home nightly.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers with 53' and doubles in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is road-ready
- Hook/unhook trailers and manage secure connections
- Maintain accurate logs using electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and terminal staff
- Adhere to scheduled departure and arrival times to support network efficiency
- Occasionally assist with yard moves or trailer spotting
Schedule
- We have routes that run both days and evenings 7 days a week.
- PM routes usually start 6-9pm and return 3-6am
- AM routes usually leave 6-11am and return 4-9pm
Preferred Experience
- Prior linehaul or relay driving experience
- Familiarity with FedEx network operations or similar LTL environments
- Experience with doubles and yard operations
